Warish Dharel is a travel and tourism entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience building businesses, creating jobs, and strengthening communities. Now, he’s running for Parliament under Ujyaalo Nepal Party because Kathmandu-6 deserves honest leadership that delivers results, not empty promises.

For too long, we have been underserved by leaders who make promises they never keep. The problems facing the country – corruption, unemployment, poor urban planning, and lack of opportunities aren’t inevitable. They’re the result of failed leadership. Kathmandu 6 Constituency consists of wards 26, 27, and 28 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, wards 1, 8, 9, 10, and 11 of Tokha Municipality, and wards 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 of Tarakeshwar Municipality. The constituency is diverse, growing, and full of potential—but faces real challenges that need immediate attention. Here are Warish’s five priorities for Kathmandu-6:

Transparent & Accountable Representation

The Promise: Ensure Kathmandu-6’s voice is heard in Parliament, with fair allocation of resources and policies that reflect the real needs of the communities.

The Action:

  • Establish a constituency helpdesk accessible to all residents
  • Hold quarterly public meetings to report on progress and gather feedback
  • Publish detailed reports on how constituency funds are allocated and spent
  • Create direct communication channels (WhatsApp, email, phone) for constituent concerns

Why It Matters: For too long, the constituency has been ignored or taken for granted. Residents deserve a representative who shows up, listens, and delivers.

Economic Growth & Job Opportunities

The Promise: Ensure Kathmandu-6’s voice is heard in Parliament, with fair allocation of resources and policies that reflect the real needs of the communities.

The Action:

  • Push for simplified business registration and licensing processes
  • Support tourism development initiatives that benefit local communities
  • Advocate for infrastructure improvements that attract investment
  • Create partnerships between local businesses and training institutions
  • Champion policies that reduce bureaucratic barriers for entrepreneurs

Why It Matters: For too long, the constituency has been ignored or taken for granted. Residents deserve a representative who shows up, listens, and delivers.

Education & Skill Development

The Promise: Push for scholarships, vocational training programs, and improved education policies so young people in Kathmandu-6 can compete nationally and internationally.

The Action:

  • Advocate for increased scholarship opportunities for students from Kathmandu-6
  • Support establishment of vocational training centers focused on high-demand skills
  • Push for digital literacy programs in all wards
  • Work with private sector to create internship and apprenticeship opportunities
  • Champion education reforms that prioritize practical skills alongside academics

Why It Matters: The constituency’s youth are its greatest asset. They need skills and opportunities, not just degrees. Warish will fight to ensure they have both.

Healthcare & Social Safety Nets

The Promise: Work to improve access to quality healthcare, strengthen public hospitals, and support programs for vulnerable families in the constituency.

  • Advocate for improved healthcare facilities in Tokha and Tarakeshwar municipalities
  • Push for mobile health clinics for underserved wards
  • Support programs for elderly care and support for persons with disabilities
  • Work to ensure affordable essential medicines are available

The Promise: Promote sustainable urban planning, improved public transport, green spaces, and environmental protection initiatives suitable for Kathmandu-6’s growing population.

The Action:

  • Push for better road infrastructure and traffic management in all wards
  • Advocate for improved waste management and recycling programs
  • Support creation of parks and green spaces for community gathering
  • Champion sustainable development that protects the environment
  • Work on drainage and water management to prevent flooding

Holding Leadership Accountable

Warish is making this promise: If elected, he will establish clear, measurable goals for his first year in office and report publicly on his progress every quarter. He will:

  • Hold monthly public meetings in different wards of Kathmandu-6
  • Maintain an open constituency office with regular hours
  • Publish quarterly reports on his legislative work and constituency projects
  • Respond to constituent concerns within 48 hours
  • Make himself available through multiple channels: in-person, phone, email, and WhatsApp
